Ok, now, the whole story as to
why I wanted the Bugeye
photos. A good friend in
England who lives in the area
where the cars were originally
made, send me a large pile of
the cardboard beer mats from
pubs around the area. Rather
than use them and ruin them,
or hide them away like some
sort of unappreciated gift, I
spoke with my daughter about
an art project. As any of us
working class folk know, a
beer after work is a common
occurrence, why would
Abington/Cowley workers be any
different. Thus, with a
request for a photo, I was not
too specific, and I am glad I
was not. I got many GREAT
photos, and thank you to all
who sent me a photo of their
beautiful cars. Even the
custom ones are damn cool!!!
Bob Troutman OR was the one
with a wonderful red 60 with a
white hardtop with the ocean
in the background. I had my
ideas about what would be
nice, but since I HAD asked my
daughter to do this, I
accepted her decision. With
the photo printed, set on a
blue background, and the words
"the BREWS that BUILT the
BUGEYE above and below, the
rest of the poster is the
coasters displayed front and
rear under glass in a brushed
aluminum 20 x 28 frame. The
neatest thing is, there are
even some Old Speckled Hen
coasters in the mix. I have
some low res. photos that my
daughter took that I would
share with any interested
parties. I can take some high
res. photos tomorrow, if I
only had a place to post them.
I had a place in my hED, if I
could JUST remember where it
was...........
Thank you again to all who
offered up the photos.
FWIW, I don't know what color
to paint my car after all
these wonderful pictures.
