THEY did not design the throttle mouse trap set up.
Somebody started pulling parts out of bins until it worked.

Yeah, busted knuckles, headaches, and overdrive kick down which could 
have easily been done with vacuum. (dinosaurs showing again)

And the frogeye was decades ahead in design, function, and throttle control!

Yup, 20 years later and it is still 1945 technology.

I am truley sorry that guy isn't here in front of me so I can kick him 
right square in the nads because whoever designed it was an idiot!
And it probably wasn't any of the healey people. I bet it was Lord 
Numbskull of Austin fame.
Now shall I tell you how I improved the shifter removal?
Again I made it simple. What took me 6 hours to get out will only take 1 
minute the next time. Bolts, not pins that rust and can not be "tapped 
into the shifter". Now I just unscrew 2 bolts rounded off to pegs inside 
the shifter. Better!
