Thanks for all your help on 'car runs but need help', we're getting there
slowly, have some improvements, bought two weber books, and have ordered some
jets. Will keep you posted. (PS love the troubleshooting chart in the Haynes
Weber Book 'car doesn't run properly - improper tuning' Thanks guys! Now I'm
all set! I think I might start writing manuals.)
Anyhow, I've run into one question, probably obvious but I'm trying to be
thorough. I don't understand what float positions the measurements are taken
at.
They give two measurements, for example 41 and 51mm from cover to bottom of
float on a DGV. As far as I can see there are three possible float positions:
1) all the way up, valve compressed, (no gas flow)
2) tab touching the valve but not compressing the spring, (gas flow)
3) float dangling way down, as in an empty float bowl, tab not touching
valve (gas flow)
which two positions do the 41 and 51 refer to?
Thanks!
