Actually some parts of the story were true. My mom and Mrs. Cord were
friends and I drove them around town many times. The car was in her
garage, covered with a tarp. E.L. Cord lived here in Reno and I met him
in the mid to early 70's. At the time I worked for Western Airlines and
he had chartered a plane to bring him back home to Reno from the Mayo
Clinic. I carried him down the stairs (no jet ways at that time). He
was a very sick man and grabbed my arm with his cold hand and said
"please don't drop me", hey I didn't. He died shortly after that. As
to the car Mrs. Cord never let me near it and I have no idea what became
of it.
