Thanks to everyone for the responses - seeing a wire hanging next to the
coil I just assumed that I knocked it off and assumed that it was
supposed to be connected to the coil - and I didn't want to try and fire
up the car without knowing for sure. I'm glad to know that it's nothing
to worry about. Thanks again!

That white/brown wire on a 65 Sprite goes to the oil filter NOT the
coil. Assuming the car is still positive ground, white wire goes to
negative
(or SW) on the coil.
white/black goes from positive on coil (or CB) to distributor.
White/brown is the clogged oil filter warning light, that red light just
right of the center of the dash.
If the car is negative ground, white > + white/blk > -
