According to Al Katz who served in the
Marines in Korea (lost a foot due to frostbite during the retreat from
the
Chosin Reservoir), these Chinese-made weapons worked just fine.
Point being, they are capable constructors
when, in their opinion, it counts. Same with their Chinese-built MiG
15's. Good
thing there were more of them flying these
than their Russian buddies who provided
the design and flew the minority of these
aircraft as "technical advisors"! The
Chinese (at that time) hadn't a clue but
their Russian counterparts were, as it
is told, quite formidable.
