The input shaft turning provides for
lubrication (or something like that).
For a couple of miles at low speed I am
sure it will survive but anything protracted
and your in no man's land damage-wise,
and will find yourself in a position to most
likely answer your own question....and
tell us! :)
Datsun 5 speed is the same way so I
am told. Dis-connecting driveshaft for
protracted tow is the way...wire it "up".
