"Kent 266" (kit with matching new lifters and valve springs, of
course!:)
Exactomundarino, Eddie! {:) Although
if low end is really where you want it,
the milder "256" is a better choice.
The foregoing having been said,
the 266 with slightly earlier opening
period but greater exhaust duration
as compared to inlet duration (unlike
the 256, it's assymetric in this respect)
in addition to greater duration all-around
will give you a little more at the bottom
with a big increase in mid-range and top, relatively speaking over
stock, unless you
time it in fairly advanced so that it's running about 4 degrees so,
AFTER timing chain "stretch" has had it's say.
Decisions, decisions!! :):)
In any case, may I respectfully suggest
you read over the appropriate chapter
in Vizard's book before making a choice, and most especially his
comments on "timing either one in" for maximum effectiveness.
Just by boring to 20 over and skimming the head "flat" (and maybe the
"deck" of
the block as well?), you'll be going to
about 9.0-1 (more or less), anyway! :)
Still well within unleaded premium MON
octane compatibility with stock ignition
timing, NGK "6" heat range, etc.
