"....don't be too concerned"

whoa, whoa big Kahuna!! Not so fast!

But, suppose it's
a worn oil pump insteal of a sticky reliefe
valve or innaccurate gauge? This happened on my PO'd '74. Low oil
pressure can be because of bearings but,
sometimes it's the "other way 'round".

My '74 had excellent idle oil pressure
but "running", began dropping off toward
50 on the highway....normally a solid
60 "hot" at 3k.

Cleaned the reliefe valve set-up. No
change. Changed oil and filter. No change. Went to 40wt (summer)..no
change! Made a call to APT. Ordered and
installed new Sureflow oil pump....fixed!! :):)
