Yep....you have to be at the top of your
form and situationally as aware as hell
or you're gonna get hurt and/or hurt
others while having all the fun in the world! Man and machine.
For me it was a choice between racing
and flying. I know just what you mean,
lean! Flying cancelled bank checks at
night, single pilot IFR in light twins,
one of the chief dangers was falling
asleep and finding yourself hours later
out over the ocean, short on gas! Lost
more than one guy this way in this
part of the biz! Flying to good "rock"
(Eric Clapton, fr'instance) helped keep
me "up" at 4AM!! :)
