Well, Bill....

The PerTronix puts out (according to the
guys at Nisonger) a weaker impulse to the
tach than the points triggered ignition.

Matter of fact, they normally install a more
"sensitive" part when they overhaul even
Smith tachs which relay on a Hall Effect
Device (HED) for their impulse signal.

So this might be a problem
for any tach made with points in mind.
