Well...
Our government was originally intended to
serve the majority, not special interest
groups of certain politicians, or other political types who have made
government, literally, a
"business" financially speaking.
It seems that if you were born here, your
needs are of the lowest priority on the list.
below even the needs of people in other
countries for that matter.
This isn't a question of "black and white",
it's a question of "extent" based upon the
"charity begins at home" concept (which is something I personally,
firmly believe in).
In this respect, Turkey, North Korea and
others can go to hell. And while I've nothing against France, Germany,
Russia, etc. and respect their right to think "differently" in certain
matters, they can
go to hell to, in terms of taking care of
"our own" before "theirs".
When things get better, we can help take
care of "theirs", AFTER we've taken care
of "ours" and this includes those who come here seeking citizenship as
well, and not just free government assistance
and even these should be "restricted" in
terms of the government's ability to take
care of those already "within", before
taking more in from "without", during
difficult economic times.
IMHO, the government in the aforementioned respects has allowed
it's priorities to get way, way "off track".
The "oversight" bites the big one in these
respects as "management" gets progressively dumber and dumber, over
my lifetime on the planet, anyway.
Still one of the best places to be, though! :):)
