Hi, Jacques...hope you are doing well! :)
Well, you already saw my previous post
on this, Jacques.
Let's put it this way. On my stock unsmogged '74 1275, I decided to go
with
a Weber 45 DCOE, the model pre-jetted
for the stock 1275 (not the one for the
set up with 38mm chokes, etc. for the
Mini-Cooper of yesteryear that Frank
C. must've accidentally gotten ahold of,
initially.
I have never like the "slow" off-idle response of the variable choke
carb. as in WOT from "idle", though the SU's were
fine once you got going.
The engine was "healthy" and
the kit was strictly a bolt-on application....
turn the key, and drive away. It required
no fiddling and ran fine right out of the
box after setting idle mixture (easy enough).
The difference in off-idle WOT response
was instantly noticeable....big difference.
Like "right NOW!" Other than that, I have
to say I couldn't really tell a MAJOR difference in acceleration once
the car/engine got going except is seemed
peppier all around. But, the immediate
off-idle response made the car more
quick to speed, non-thelesss.
And I am sure that "mini" 270 "bells" and
the large, deep K&N filter must have figured into this as well of
course, though
I have no idea as to extent at all.
