You just got a "bad" unit for whatever reasons. If it makes you feel any
better,
the PerTronix that came within my Aldon
distributor from England (curve tailored
for Judson blower came with a "ng" unit
which failed within 5 secs. of initial
hookup by Rivergate's Bill Perry.
Yes, we all knew it was for negative ground and it WAS hooked up
"properly",
accordingly. Sent to PerTronix in USA
who checked it (bad) and sent a working
replacement in a heartbeat. Good to do
business with. Why the original failed...??
Replacement has been working just great.
