Yes, earlier- the first Datsun "Fairlady" (SP212) was manufactured in
1960-61 and had a 1189cc, 48hp, 4cyl "E series" engine. Next came the SP213
(1961-62) with a 1189cc, 60hp, 4cyl "E-1 series" engine. Then Datsun made
the SP310 (1962-64) with a 1488cc, 75hp, 4cyl "G series" engine, originally
fitted with a single Hitachi carb. Datsun quickly upgraded to a twin carb
set up and 85hp. I think Cpn'Bob was thinking of the last car, which I
believe is the most common.
