I am having a bit of a problem. I believe it can be traced to the 25 yr old
fuse block. My fuses are melting, not blowing. Worst part is, the one I am
having problems with is the fuse that handles the brake lights, wipers, and
dash gauges. I just replaced the main wiring harness and now I am having an
"issue". As I said, the fuses are melting, not blowing, I can get a
positive connection to the hot side of the fuse block, but an intermittent
connection to the rest of the wiring. This is all concerned around the
third from the bottom fuse in the 4 fuse block. I am thinking I need a new
fuse block, but I am also wondering about the Moss replacement. I know
Allen H put a more modern fuse panel in his car, but I would rather stick
with the 4 fuse style. I have had the block out and cleaned it using baking
soda and a wire brush, as much as is possible. I think that it is getting
too hot due to a bad connection between the spade and the rivet.
So now comes the question, What are folks experiences with replacement fuse
blocks?? Moss has them for $28 bucks. Thinking on going with that, just to
get one.
