I only had an engine balanced in a street car once- and it was worth it...
but I was going to rebuild that engine anyways... I don't think I would take
an engine out of the car just for that.
For racing, it is a necessity - IMHO. My racing Sprite engine is balanced
(crank, rods, flywheel...) and can easily rev to 8,000 RPM.
