A close friend had a '96 Neon. She hated it. The windows always rattled when
down, the rubber gasket for the driver's window fell several times, and her
radio never did work correctly. All in the 1st year. 4 years into ownership,
she had to change the head gasket. Then she had an accident, had the insurance
fix it, and traded it for a Honda CRV. She claims it's the best move she ever
made. But it was far better than the Datsun 200sx she owned prior to the Neon.
She did rack up about 60K miles on it, driving it through NYC, though. That's
worth something.
