The tank fitting is one of the few Whitworth thread fittings on our cars.
Nothing (that I know of) locally will work. But maybe, just maybe one of those
plastic threaded sink supply lines from the plumbing section of a hardware store
might be coaxed into cutting it's own threads when forced into the gas tank.
I have never tried this but I do know it works when using a metric plastic brake
light switch to replace the Lucas switch on the later Spridgets.
