Is my face red. I just received by roundabout fashion a reply from the
unnamed shop owner about the bugye in question. He makes excellent points
about the cost and the desires of the owner. Clearly this is an unfortunate
situation at lest partially resulting from the expectations of the owner and
the problems encountered in fitting the Rivergate kit to a 948. While the
mismatch of battery/coil polarity is not explained and the e-brake problem
was major, it seems that every effort is being made to correct the
situation. The shop owner made clear to the owner that the costs of the
needed repairs exceeded the value of the car.
I offer my apologies to the shop owner and the list for jumping in with half
a set of facts. I hereby banish myself from the list for a month and vow to
butt the heck out in the future.
To the shop owner: I will tender my apology in person when next we meet.
