Hi.
I use PPG DX330 wax and grease remover before starting any bodywork. You
wipe the surface with a saturated paper towel or cloth, then wipe it dry
with another. If you let it just air dry without wiping you won't get the
oils off.
Before painting wipe with a tack rag to get any lint particles off.
Once it's primed I don't generally use it since there shouldn't be any oils
present.
