I think it's the same device by different
manufacturers. What I like about PerTronix is that they offer "matching"
components, e.g., coils and wires.
But, as long as components "match"
the igniter mfgs. recs. and specs., that's
all that counts, component manufacturer
notwithstanding, as far as I can see.
I do not take trips very far from home and
always carry a cell phone for emergency's
so while having an electronic system quit
is certainly a pain, it's no big deal.
Modern electronic vehicles have the same
problems. Everything is a compromise and that includes the increased
efficiency
of modern electronic systems. Like any-
thing else they are great when they work
and not so great when they don't (which
is rare, IMHexperience!).
