I'm trying to diagnose a noise in my Midget 1500 gearbox. Atleast I
think it's in the gearbox. When driving, I get a vibration at around
38mph that sounds really deep. The sound occurs in either 3rd or 4th
gear (I haven't tried second but that would be revving it really high).
I could feel the vibration caused by the noise when it was occurring.
I put the rear on jackstands and ran through the gears and it still did
it....same noise/vibration at same speed.
So I disconnected the driveshaft and I'm not sure if I hear/feel it
anymore. But I was certain I could feel it right at the tunnel beside
my right leg.
Could the driveshaft be my problem? The driveshaft/gearbox union was
pretty rusty.
I have wav files (~250K each) if anyone wants to take a listen to try to
help.
Thanks
Tyson
