This was an added safety feature starting in 1974. It kept the engine/trans with
the car incase of a severe wreck.
So now instead of the engine/trans sliding safely away from the crash site, it
swung around on this cable and bopped you in the head a few times.
This gave a whole new meaning to the term 'Safety Fast"!
