Since the list is so quiet I thought I would attempt to engage the many
faceted minds available here in other directions.
My brother-in-law and I are hoping to spend a week or 10 days in a warm place
on an ocean the week of Christmas, next year (2002). Having never been to any
of the islands myself I'm open to any suggestions. My wife has been to Bermuda
before and liked it, but Bermuda is kinda on the expensive side, and I'd
prefer someplace a little warmer for that time of year. There are 11 of us so
finding a place we can all stay together is a bit of an issue too. We'd like
to have a place that has full living facilities, not just a string of bedrooms
in a motel.
We've looked into some "villas" that seem to be available on most of the
Caribbean islands (but not Bermuda), but the ones that are big enough are
generally these million dollar plus mansions and they generally want $7-15,000
for a week!.
We're also open to alternative suggestions. We'd just like it to be warm
enough to go swimming (and no, we're not in the Polar Bear Club, so Iceland is
out) and on the ocean. While we do have a decent sized budget, when you're
multiplying by 11 it adds up fast, so keeping down the overall cost is the
desired effect.
So, any suggestions?
