The Austin Healey Sprite. In 1959 over 21,000 units were sold but in 1960 the number sold had decreased to just over 18,500 units. The Bug Eye or Frog Eye Sprite had been on the market unchanged for two years. BMC requested Healey to redesigned the front of the Sprite and demanded that the headlights be mounted in the wings in a traditional manner.
