Stripped out the propshaft and replaced the 2 UJ's tonight. Nice
straightforward job for once. Also found that my arms are long and
thin enough to reach down the length of the tranny tunnel from the
rear axle end in order to guide the splined end of the prop shaft into
the back of the gerarbox. Not the difficult task I thought irt was
going to be.
One of the UJ's turned out to be completely dry and full of rust-dust,
whilst on the other one, 1 arm (or are they legs?) of the spider was
all chewed down to a conical stump. No wonder it made ping noises!.
Odd thing was it never seemed to vibrate at all. Surprising, I would
say.
