brake light switch

I just talked to my Mini guru and he said it is common for a bubble to get
caught in the hydraulic switch for the brake lights.  Now this is the
interesting part:  He packs the hydraulic side of the switch with vasoline
before installation to prevent just this problem????   Jeez, I love to hear
stuff like this....I'm going out now to try it firsthand and will report
back.
