Simple Midget 1500 Exhaust Question

I'm putting the front pipe (and cat) back on my 77
Midget, and like a dummy I didn't do it before I
put the exhaust manifold on. I have a Weber so all
the manifolds must go on before the head attaches.

Anyway, it's quite a bear fitting the cat in from
the top without pulling the head.  I've almost got
it there.  Does the pipe go between the rail of
the body and the block, or between the two body
rails?
