Hi All,
Well today the Mg came down from the blocks to take a test drive. I had only
driven it once since I got it last year. All new suspension and tires. New
brake lines. Still working on the interior. It started right up and ran great
as soon as I remembered to push the choke back in! I let it run a few minutes
and then noticed a puddle of antifreeze below. I found one of the freeze plugs
had come out and was laying underneath the car. I seem to recall last year
that I left some water in there and it froze up slightly. Anyway I am not sure
if that pushed it out...maybe it loosened it up? I popped it back in and it
seems ok- but is leaking a small amount of coolant. I am concerned it will pop
out sometime in the future. Anyone else had this happen?
I drove the car quite a bit after that little episode and it ran well. It
stayed right around 190 degrees with no fan...I converted to the geo metro
radiator. I hope to install an electric fan in the near future. The new
shocks/ springs/ tires really feel great. Just a few more weeks and I hope to
have the interior all back together....then the pleasure of the state
inspection! Anyone have any ideas for the tach...it reads 7000 all the time.
Also I am looking for a 13 inch wire wheel for a spare ( mine rusted out!)
Thanks!
