Yes, I've thought of that too. Brought it up on the list sometime last fall,
and a couple of listers were kind enough to send me some pics. They look
good and I was seriously considering it for a while, but I decided I like
the looks of the original metal dash a bit better. Plus even though mine is
kind of ratty, it doesn't seem quite beyond some kind of reasonable repair,
so I can't quite bring myself to hacking all the plastic and foam off of it.
There was a padded dash on ebay a few weeks ago that appeared to have all
the plastic stripped off, but still had the foam attached. That would have
been a good candidate for sandblasting/painting.
