Robert, A BA 777? how exciting! I hope it enjoys it's new weather. I vote you find a way to put the new plates over the UK plates with out altering them. Then you can wear those distinctive plates like a badge of honor. They still cover whatever paint they did B4 and look good "peeking out from behind" (IMHO).
