We went thru this subject at great length on the MG list last summer. Personally, I replaced the boots and filled the rack with the specified gear lube as part of a complete front end rebuild on my B. I figured that you can get grease on the rack and pinion easily enough but what about the upper end of the pinion shaft and its bushings? Cheers, CR |
