Actually most of them are likely to be in my book because mostly they are
genuine enthusiasts that learnt from real first hand experience rather than
paying someone else to learn and do stuff for them. EG: Colin Chapman, Mike
Costin, Frank Costin, Keith Duckworth, Jackie Stewart (once worked as petrol
pump attendant), Damon Hill, Harry Weslake. A lot of the British team
owners/designers etc started at the bottom and were active in club motorsport
as competitors before moving on to their 'current jobs'.
Perhaps the exception is Luca Montezemolo - I think this is just the name of
a type of cheese.
