That article actually has some good info. Sounds like he went at
it the same way I did, and got good results, so that's good.
I did notice a detail though, his overdrive works on third. He
also said he had the wrong bellhousing and input shaft, but the
"correct" spitfire one bolts right up.
I have the "correct" spitfire unit, but from all I have read
the overdrive lockout switch only lets it work in 4th. I beleive
overdrive 3rd is also pretty close to 4th in ratio and this
was part of the rationale.
I won't know until I find a spare shift lever and start doing
some testing, but that might be a difference from the source
vehicle.
