Bill, The tool that you are referring to that removes the ridge (carbon buildup) at the top of the cylinder is called a Ridge Reamer. It is available from most auto supply store, JC Whitney, and Sears. removing this ridge is essential before attempting to remove the piston assemblies from the bores. If the pistons are removed prior to reaming the ridge, significant scoring of the piston and cracking of the ring lands can result. Best regards, Gary L |
