don't know about the picture you are looking at but, we used to take a white 
paint stick and "color" the inside of our winston cup and busch car tires to 
show any scrubbing of tie rod ends, etc. during hard cornering or braking. 
used to be a lot of flex in the sidewalls and you wouldn't find out you had 
something scrubbing until it was too late.
