Nope. Not me. But you should have called me. We could have at least met
for drinks one evenings.
On a side note, just got back from a three day sprint working on the
Midget.
The car's at MGT's in West MIlford NJ, but Rob was nice enough to let me go
out there (and stay at his house) and do all the little crap rather than
bill me. Cost twice as much in time, but I sure learned a lot.
As for the progress, the new engine's in and running. We only ran it for
about 10 minutes, though. We still need to do another 45 minutes at least
to break it in. But it sure sounded great. That 285 cam gives it a nice
"rumma rumma rumma" sound to it at idle (well, at 2,200 RPM as we didn't let
it idle for longer than a second or two). And I never thought I'd see a
1500 Spitfidget engine with 80lbs oil pressure. Opening up those oil
galleries really helped. We figure I'll switch to Synthetic at about 2K or
so to let the engine break in. It's not drivable yet, but it'll probably
be ready for the rally in a few weeks. I may even get my 3.7 rear in before
the trip. That'll be nice on the highway.

Back after an unexpected week in NY. On the way to
pick up family at Laguardia, passed 2 RB Midgets (not
traveling together) early Sunday night in traffic out
by the old World's Fair grounds in Flushing just
before that ugly blue stadium where the other NY
baseball team plays. Either one a lister - Mike G.
maybe? There was no sign of Susie.
While I was in NY for unhappy reasons, I had forgotten
how great NY'ers are, and how absolutely unbeatable
the food is. Lots more LBC's in regular use than I
usually see around here, too.
