What is the filter made of? Does it look like a cloth material surrounded by
a screen that is molded into the cleaner? Or is it paper? My K & N has "K &
N" stamped in large letters (their logo font) on the top of the cover, and it
bolts down with two bolts that run through the cover. If it is a K & N, you
certainly don't want to throw it away--it is cleanable.
Can you call the PO? Could be he/she installed it and knows what kind it is.
Or run it by a hot rod shop or a store that carries a good line of K & N
filters to let them check it out.
BTW, congratulations on finding the loose spark plug wire. Glad it was
something easy.
