My secret to getting the trans all the way in and the drive shaft at the
same time......
Use a rope around the tailshaft of the trans, just before it slips in,
insert the driveshaft thru the shifter hole. Watch your hands, it's
tight but do-able.
You will need a trusty strong assistant to lift up on the rope. SOs and
wifes frown upon this job. Sons, Brothers, neighbors or anyone willing
to give you a hand for 5 minutes in trade for a beer will do just fine.
