Moose, I've run the timken roller bearings for years with no problems. You can set the preload on the ball bearings by "adjusting the spacer" by lengthing or shorting it, so when it is torqued you have the proper preload on the bearings. Most just assume the spacer is right and torque it down, and then blame the bearings if they are to loose or tight. When properly installed, or if your very lucky, the ball bearings are fine. But even I can set the preload on the roller bearings right every time. Crash |
