My wife's car does this all the time, since day one.  Two solutions,
one is it move to a humid climate, but that is a bit drastic.  The
second solution and the one I use is to touch the key to the door before
I get out.  Works for me, but I think my static comes from the rubbing of
my clothes on the cloth seat.
