If you weld you might weld in an "L" that would both give you more support by
being welded to the tranny tunnel and to the existing floor, and fill the
gaps left by the DPO. The best alternative, but a lot more work, would be to
remove the botch and replace it with a proper floor. The floors are
available but not just the footwell--you have to buy the whole side.
