Who ever quoted him $1400 on a used engine is gouging him bad. Most ARA
(American Recycling Assoc.) member yards sell this engine for around
$350-500. Some specialty shops I know charge $600, but they usually go
through them a bit to make sure they are sound. If you can't find one
for him cheaper drop me an email, along with the city he is in, and I
will do a search for you and report back who can help your friend.
