panhard rod

I was thinking of purchasing Mini Mania's rear axle locating rod. This is the 
one which serves as a triangle to locate the axle from excessive movement 
"left -to-right" . Has anyone got one? Does it work the same as a pure 
Panhard rod? I am not worried about the quality, MM has always given me 
goodstuff, I am just curious about the principle.  Any vintage racers out 
there with a opinion?   Bob C
