| > Specifically the re-torque after the initial warm > up. Un-torque (just barely break each nut free in order they were torqued), then gradually back each off slightly. Re-tighten in proper sequence in gradual increments (5 - 10 ft lb). Reason for backing off before retightening is that the coefficient of static friction (aka "breakaway torque)is higher than rolling friction, and can cause a false torque reading. |
