I was only scared once in a Sprite. 1972, 67 Sprite, bone stock except for the Corvair wire wheel hub caps, down hill, good tail wind, speedo hit the "E" in Main Beam. If the calibration was close, I figure 115mph. And yes, they do get very light in the front over 100 mph. Being older and a little (very little) bit wiser, I keep the Sprites around 80-90 at most these days. The only thing worse than that was 140mph in a GT6 with bald tires. Yet 120 in a Jag is like 70 in a Sprite. FWIW Frank |
