Hey all. THese people from the spitfire list had these responses: Joe Curry wrote: I've seen this before. In fact Tiny Tim (my latest Mk1 acquisition) has it on its timing cover. I have to believe it was factory installed to muffle timing chain noise. Joe _and_ This was actually put on by the factory.
