This was a great weekend for me as well. Did 500 miles on my Bugeye with
a 100 mile drive to Winston Salem. 100+ mile rally and 100 miles back
home on Saturday. Then a 90 mile drive to the Tanglewood car show on
Sunday and back again. In 95 degree weather running at 70mph down the
interstate including some 80mph 5000rpm stretches the temp guage never
got above 200. Average fuel consumption was 33mpg for the car and 3
bottles of gatorade 2 iced teas 2 beers 3 lemonades and 4 glasses of
water for me. I was really beginning to envy the late model Land Rover
with A/C that was also in the rally, as well as the E-types that made
some of the hills look easy while I was downshifting like crazy to keep
up.
Peter.
