| Elliot, you may have the timing to far advanced, try retarding it. Better yet
test it with a timing light.
Hope this helps

Subject: Fast Idle
Started "Spot" for the first time today. After playing with the timing,
various induction leaks, float levels, etc. .. etc .. etc.. I got a
smooth running engine.
The problem is that it's a very fast smooth running engine. I can't get
the idle below 1500 rpm. I've back the idle adjustment screws all the
way out and disconnected the choke linkage.
I feel that I'm going to have to I&R the SU's again and find out what I
missed the first time around.
This is a "new" engine. New pistons, new Kent FastRoad Cam, new valves,
new valve seats, new header. I rebuilt the dizzy out of a box, I think I
got it together right.
Any suggestions from the experts would be helpful.
